About Dr Pelisa Ford
With a Medical Degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Palliative Medicine from the University of Cape Town, an MSc Medicine (Bioethics and Health Law) from the University of Witwatersrand, and a College of Medicine Fellowship in Radiation Oncology, Dr Ford is a registered Clinical & Radiation Oncologist based in Port Elizabeth. Her vast experience, spanning over 20 years, in general, palliative, HIV and oncology medicine distinguishes her as a well equipped and insightful clinician. Working with a multi-disciplinary team is a cornerstone of her comprehensive and holistic oncology practice. Additional to her training in palliative care, the years of practical experience in delivering a palliative-care based approach to clinical care have equipped her with the clinical and emotional skill set to manage both the biological and psycho-social aspects of an oncology diagnosis.
Her search for a virtuous and meaningful life has led her to the completion of an MSc Medicine (Bioethics & Health Law), and the realisation that it is only through living one's life that one can choose virtue and meaning daily. This has enhanced her life principles of compassion and integrity in her professional and personal pursuit of innovation and excellence.
